Yeu Kashi Tashi Me Nandayla: Sweetu’s Good Nature Is Causing Her More Damage Than Ever Before

In Yeu Kashi Me Nandayla, we have Sweetu who is supposed to be an unlikely heroine because of her weight. But other than that, every character trait of Sweetu’s is that of a good heroine. She is caring, kind and loving with everyone around her. And she’s talented too! But one of her good qualities, which is respecting her parents’ wishes has become her worst nightmare now. Her mother Nalu, is hellbent on not seeing Omkar and Sweetu together because of Malavika. She is also desperate for Sweetu’s marriage and wants to do it as soon as possible. When Mohit comes with a proposal, she accepts it without any qualms.

Mohit has been one of the sketchy characters that have been doing Malavika’s dirty work since the beginning. He has troubled the Salvis enough for them to dislike him. Yet, Nalu thinks he has changed and wants Sweetu to marry him. Nalu gives Sweetu her thread and makes her promise that she will not fall in love (with Omkar, we think) and that promise holds her back.

Even when Dada Salvi asks Sweetu about Mohit and will only agree to the wedding if she is hundred per cent sure, she just gives her nod without thinking about her own wants. No one on the show, except for Dada and Omkar are worried about Sweetu’s wants. She remains silent and listens to her mother’s every whim and fancy out of love and respect for her. But, can we trust Nalu to make the right decisions for Sweetu?

And while Sweetu might be marrying for her family’s happiness, she should know that her family is not happy with her alliance. They are happy with the event of her wedding, but they don’t fully appreciate or like Mohit as her groom. We have seen Chinnya and his father as well as Vasant showing their dislike for Mohit before. If Sweetu does marry Mohit, she will remain unhappy, but even her family will be unhappy because of what they have caused. It’s not a good decision for anyone, especially for Sweetu, to keep mum like this.

With Sweetu not uttering a word, she will be losing Shaku and her love just as she lost Shaku’s bangles when Mohit spotted them and forced them out of her hands. When Sweetu lives in the Khanvilkar house, she is her happiest and everyone around is very comfortable with her. She has made it her second home already and once she marries Mohit, she will have no connections with it as well. All of these things point to one thing alone: if Sweetu keeps quiet for too long, she might lose everything good in her life. Marriage to Mohit is a huge mistake that she will not be able to take back.

We think that she should really gather courage and openly communicate with her family, especially with Nalu. After all, it is the 21st century. We should be able to see a heroine speaking up and fighting for herself. If not fighting, at least telling someone about her confusion and her pain.
