The TV show depicts the life of Rani Rashmoni and her journey from childhood to marriage to a wealthy landlord and finally managing his estate. Her struggles in protecting her people against the British, ensuring their livelihoods and reducing British exploitation endeared her a lot to them. She was a devout woman who ensured that religious occasions were celebrated with great enthusiasm, and due to her people-friendly policies, everyone from her estate used to participate in such gatherings. Under her aegis, many temples were constructed, along with roads, and she also donated heavily to educational institutions.
