Sagar recalls Vidya asking him to lie to the police and admit that she had pushed Desai. When he had refused, Vidya reminds him of his promise to always heed her. A dejected Sagar had finally relented and promised never to speak the truth to anyone, including their family. An upset Sagar is unable to answer the cop, so Sindoora comes to Sagar's rescue and takes him away. Sindoora is triumphant that poor Vidya does not even realise that the court will never sentence Sagar because of his condition! When the police interrogate the children, they speak highly of their teacher and accuse Vidya of being guilty of killing him. Sindoora puts on an act of being concerned and asks Vidya to remain firm about her confession and never let the police reach Sagar. She asks Vidya not to inform even Aniket about the truth and always keep the secret only between them. The police take Vidya away but Sagar frees her from them. Another cop goes to hit Sagar with a baton but Vidya stops him. Sagar begs Vidya not to leave him. She talks to him alone and assures him that she will set everything right. Sindoora phones Aniket to tell him about Vidya killing Desai, who in turns informs his family. Kaushalya refuses to believe it. Vidya is sent to jail where she is mocked by fellow inmates for murdering someone! Aniket and Sindoora visit Vidya in jail and Aniket asks her to mention the complete details to him. Vidya tells him the truth and is about to narrate the end
