Sagar refuses to let Samir sit next to him at the breakfast table. Surili makes Vidya sit next to Sagar and serves breakfast to everybody. Sagar asks Vidya to let the stupid Surili do the work. Surili vows to soon create an upheaval in Sagar and Vidya's lives! Later, Surili throws the ball in a storeroom and asks Samir to fetch it. She then locks the door. A worried Surili informs the family that she is not able to find Samir anywhere. On the other hand, a frightened Samir weeps and Vidya hears him. When Uma asks Surili why Samir does not talk, she replies that he is mute. Hema taunts that the father is a madman, and the family's sole heir is mute! Sindoora is pleased that the child will never reveal their secret. Meanwhile, Surili makes up another sob story about Samir's disability. She apologises to Uma for not revealing the truth earlier and says that Samir will be fine with a little love from everyone. Uma says that she will organise a religious ceremony for the well-being of Samir, so Hema asks whether his mother will sit for it or his stepmother. Vidya asserts that only Surili will participate in the ceremony. Later, Sindoora goes to Surili's room and scolds her for eating because she is supposed to observe a fast. However, Surili assures her that it is not easy to expose them. Sagar gets upset that Vidya is keeping a fast for Samir. Vidya tries to convince him that it is for Samir's well-being, and she is fasting for him as his mother. Sagar asks her how she can observe a fast when she is not Samir's mother!
