This favourite Bengali serial starred actor Indrani Haldar in the lead role of Parama Mitra, a housewife who juggles a dual life as a housewife as well as a professional detective! The character Parama Mitra is an unstoppable force who never fails to inspire us with her incredible wit, wisdom and indomitable spirit. 1. Parama Defends The Innocent

Watch this climactic scene in this episode where Parama defends the innocent Shankarer Ma, who has served the Mitra family for several years but is now accused of a grave crime. Not only does Parama manage to absolve her, in a stroke of sheer class and poise, she even saves the face of Nanda, the true culprit who has always been jealous of Parama. Despite Nanda’s own pettiness towards her, Parama extends empathy and demonstrates pure kindness in this scene.

2. When Parama Convinces Her Elders To Let The Women In The Family Pursue Their Ambitions

In this episode, Parama has just been barred from participating in the ongoing Lakshmi puja festivities by her mother-in-law and Thamma as they have just found out that she has been doing detective work professionally! They resent that they had not told her before, which was only because she knew that they disapproved. However, Parama experiences a victory when she refuses to give up and reasons with them. Ultimately, Parama’s mother-in-law and Thammi come around and allow all the women in the family to pursue their own careers!

3. Parama Protects Sangeeta From Her Husband

Parama had had her eyes on Sangeeta’s husband earlier for quite some time owing to his most suspicious behaviour around his wife. In this scene, Parama rushes out of her house in the nick of time when something in her mind clicks and she reaches Sangeeta just in time to protect her from him. In the process, she gets bruised because he charges and tries to attack her, but this does not deter the brave Parama one bit!

4. When Parama Stands Up For Tablu 

In this episode, the forthright Parama speaks up for Tablu who is being pressured to get married to someone of the family’s choice. Parama stands up for Tablu and gets the elders to see that he better off marrying someone of his own choice, as opposed to being forced against his will. Now that’s a progressive move indeed!
