The ’90s was without a doubt, the golden era of Indian Television, and if you are a ’90s kid we’re sure you get nostalgic at times, reminiscing the good old days. Out of all the amazing shows we had back then, Hip Hip Hurray was one of the most loved ones. This gem of a show is still regarded as one of the cult classics in Indian Television history. The story of the show revolved around a group of 12th graders from DeNobili High School and dealt with actual issues that teenagers face such as peer pressure, relationships, exam stress, drug abuse, career confusions, health issues, and more.

Nilanjana Sharma Sengupta as Mona
Nilanjana Sharma Sengupta essayed the role of Mona, the head girl of DeNobili High School. Her physical transformation seems to be the most drastic of the lot. She went on to act and produce some Bengali feature films. Currently, she’s a producer and is happily married to Bengali superstar Jishu Sengupta.
Purab Kohli as Mazhar
Purab Kohli played Mazhar on the show and is considered to be one of the most popular faces out of the entire Hip Hip Hurray gang. The actor went on to do quite a few Hindi feature films and was last seen in the ZEE5 Original Film, London Confidential.
Nauheed Cyrusi as Meera
Nauheed Cyrusi who played Meera, became a popular face in Bollywood with many films in her kitty. Currently, she’s seen essaying the role of a journalist in Dev DD 2.
Rushad Rana as Raghav
Rushad Rana played the role of the sports captain, Raghav. The actor is a regular face on Indian Television and is mostly seen in daily soaps.
Kishwer Merchant as Nonie
Kishwer Merchant played the NRI Nonie and has had a great career on Indian television ever since, with many shows like Akbar Birbal, Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan, etc in her folio. She’s married to co-actor Suyyash Rai.
Vishal Malhotra as John
Vishal Malhotra played the happy-go-lucky John and entertained us with his fun, quirky antics. Vishal is not only a great actor but also a phenomenal anchor. He’s also acted in movies such as Anjaana Anjaani.

Samantha Tremanya played the role of Samantha on Hip Hip Hurray. You might also remember her from ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, as the annoying girl who loved Aamir Khan‘s character, Aakash. She continues to act and is also a PR professional.
Zafar Karachiwala as Rafay
Zafar Karachiwala played the brooding young man, Rafey on the show. He’s been part of some critically acclaimed movies and is now seen in the Mumbai theater scene.
Yogesh Pagare as Manjeet
Yogesh Pagare who played Manjeet in the show is now an actor and director, known for films like Ek Tha Hero and Breast Tax.
Shveta Salve as Prishita
Shveta Salve played Prishita on the show and was considered the hot girl of the school. Around two decades later, she’s still the hot one. Shveta was a part of DID and is known for her amazing dancing skills. She’s also done a variety of roles on TV as well.

Suchitra Pillai as Alaknanda ma’am
Suchitra Pillai played the Physics teacher, Alaknanda Ma’am, and was loved by one and all. Ever since then she has been a part of many films and TV shows, including the ZEE5 original Drama, Bebaakee.
