Being an actor is not as easy as it seems. Besides the long hours, they often have to go through rigorous workouts to transform their bodies to fit certain roles they play in films

1. Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan is one of the most prominent personalities in the Indian Film industry. He has worked as an actor, director, and talk-show host. He has an interest in philanthropic work and social activities through which he has won many hearts. “Aamir Khan is known to be that actor who will never stick to easy means when it comes to bringing the best to the audience with his ambitious projects.” Aamir Khan has transformed his body several times and once again for his upcoming movie ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, he has to lose 20 kgs. Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood movie Forrest Gump. Not much has been revealed but a picture from his upcoming movie was leaked and he was seen sporting messy hair and an unkempt beard. His look from the shoot had a striking resemblance to Tom Hanks’ look in the original film.

2. Rajkummar Rao

Rajkummar Rao has transformed several times according to his character. Rajkummar is a versatile actor known for several roles and he has always managed to perform extraordinarily. His recent transformation for his upcoming movie ‘Badhaai Do’ which is a sequel to ‘Badhaai Ho’ was a long journey. Sharing his transformation on Instagram, he wrote, “Being a vegetarian, it was tough to gain all this muscle and I was always very sure that I never wanted to take any kind of steroids. I never skipped my workout and never cheated on my diet. I would stare at the food everyone else was having and I’d often say, ‘last day pe I’ll eat all the mithaai’. I’m very glad that Badhaai Do gave me this opportunity to change my physique completely. I can’t wait for people to watch our beautiful film.”

3. Farhan Akhtar

Farhan Akhtar left no stone unturned in order to do justice to his character for his movie ‘Toofan’ which was released on July 16th, 2021. Farhan gave the audience his best. His role in the movie was that of a boxer and he went under massive physical transformation and gained 15 kg in just six weeks. He shared his transformation on his Instagram where he wrote, “The many shapes and sizes of Ajju aka Aziz aka Toofaan. What a ride. 18 months of relentless work but worth every drop of sweat, every sore muscle, and every pound gained and lost. The stars behind the scenes – @samir_jaura @drewnealpt @anand.physio (sic).” Farhan was 100% dedicated throughout”.

4. Ranveer Singh

Over a few years, Ranveer Singh has transformed several times for his blockbuster movies. The transformation from a muscular person in his movie ‘Simmba’ to a fit sports person in ‘83’ required intense hard work. ‘83’ is a biopic of Kapil Dev, an Indian cricket player. The challenging part was that Ranveer was 86kg in ‘Simmba’ and had to lose 12-14 kg. It was a difficult, slow, and emotional process to shed the muscle that he so painstakingly built. With the help of Rajiv (Jifit) and PodSupply (celebrity tiffin service provider), Ranveer said the journey was made easy and he achieved the target which he was happy and satisfied with.

5. Vicky Kaushal

‘Sardar Udham Singh’ starring Vicky Kaushal was much awaited and anticipated film of 2021. The movie is based on the life of an Indian revolutionary who later assassinated the then former Punjab governor Michael O’Dwyer in London. The film shows Vicky Kaushal’s character going through different phases in life. Vicky Kaushal said he went through the physical and mental transformation to act. The actor said that he was required to play a 20-year-old Udham Singh along with a 30 and 40-year-old version of him. He said: “I lost 15 kilos in 2 months and then I had around 22 days to gain all of that back so that I could play a 40-year-old.” Vicky showed a lot of courage and dedication and his performance was outstanding.
