Ram Gopal Varma Receives Criticism For His Upcoming Crime Drama, Dangerous
Ram Gopal Varma launches the trailer of his upcoming film, Dangerous, and receives a lot of criticism from the netizens.
Director and producer Ram Gopal Varma recently launched the trailer of his upcoming film, titled ‘Dangerous: A Killer Affair’. Tagged as India’s first lesbian crime/action film, the film’s trailer and the director’s tweets about the film, have been receiving a lot of flak from the viewers. Read on to know more about the issue.
Ram Gopal Varma is considered to be one of the best directors of Indian cinema, who gave us some of the best gangster dramas like Satya, D, and Company. However, in recent times, his filmography has changed for the worse and has failed to appeal to a majority of the audience. His upcoming release, Dangerous, also seems to be walking on the same lines.
After Ram Gopal Varma released the trailer and posters of Dangerous, he received a lot of criticism for his poor depiction of a homosexual relationship. The trailer shows that the protagonists, played by the actresses Naina Ganguly and Apsara Rani, fell in love with each other because they were mistreated by men. This has made a lot of people tweet to him, pointing out the fact that ‘bad experiences’ do not ‘change’ a person’s sexuality.
Dangerous: A Killer Affair, which also stars Rajpal Yadav, will release on Ram Gopal Varma’s own OTT platform, named Spark. His last release was his new film D Company, which was also released on Spark. The Dangerous trailer has been released on YouTube on Ram Gopal Varma’s channel, and as of now, it has gotten over 1.4 million views.
