Ashvini Bhave, known for her popular roles in Marathi films and TV shows, turns 48 today. The actress has worked in over 40 films opposite some of the leading stars of the M-Town including Sachin Pilgaonkar, Ashok Saraf, Laxmikant Berde, and Vikram Gokhale. She played an innocent boss lady in the superhit film Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi which is considered to be one of the most memorable roles played by her. Ashvini has also worked in numerous Bollywood films opposite stars like Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, and the late Rishi Kapoor. Here’s wishing this evergreen actress a very happy birthday! After gaining recognition in TV shows, Ashvini landed up in the film industry. She made her debut with the comedy film Dhadakebaaz which eventually turned out to be a blockbuster. Directed by Mahesh Kothare, the story of Dhadakebaaz revolves around Lakshya who comes across a bottle with a genie named Gangaram trapped in it. Next up on our list is the 1994 political drama, Vazir. The film tells the tale of Purshotam Kamble, the personal assistant to the chief minister. Purshotam seeks to rise in his ranks and aspires to become the CM one day. His agenda is to gain power over the people involved in his life. He marries Kamal, a rape victim, and uses her to better his chances of becoming the next chief minister. Ashvini has essayed the role of Kamal with perfection. Watch the film here.

Another film that Ashvini featured in is the 1991 family drama Halad Rusli Kunku Hasla. The actress played the lead role of Gauri who is humiliated by her prospective husband Avinash in front of everyone. Ashvini was also a part of the 1998 Marathi drama film, Sarkarnama. It revolves around the life of Vishwas who is in charge of a chawl in Mumbai. He’s forced to evict the residents as the chief minister has deemed the structure as unsafe. Ek Raatra Mantarleli is a thriller drama about a group of college students who are trapped at a haunted mansion. The story is all about the sinister happenings that take place in a night where the students are killed one at a time. Will the unforeseen horror stop as the night comes to an end?
