A 21-year-old model was raped by a 41-year old producer, who’s said to be a web series producer, after promising her to cast her in his projects

News knocked in of yet another casting couch call where a 42-year old producer showed vivid dreams of success and glamour to the upcoming 21-year old model and rapes her shattering her dream. According to ANI reports an FIR was filed at Goregaon police station against the accused, in March this year. The police has also quoted that,”The woman who works as a model had filed a complaint against the producer at Goregaon Police Station and an FIR was reported under section 376 and 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused js arrested after cancellation of anticipatory bail” The police also further added,”After the rape, the accused threatened the victim if she spoke to anyone about it, he’d kill her. After his arrest, the police presented him infront of the court where he was sent to custody till September 9 2021. Further investigation on the case is underway”

As beautiful and shiny the glamour industry is, the darkness is equally there and for a female to ensure it’s safety is utmost important. As the number of cases increase, safety has become a luxury and you need to be sound and alert before taking any step and not fall for the trap.

This producer hadn’t just raped her but raped her dreams and the willingness to become a successful individual and make it big in the film industry cutting the competition and rising to fame based on her sheer talent.

According to the latest data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), 88 rape cases were reported every day in India in 2019. According to the NCRB, 11 percent of the total 32,033 rape cases in the year were from the Dalit community. Annual report titled “Crime in India-2019”.

According to the NCRB report, the highest number of rape cases are reported from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Around 6,000 rape cases were reported in Rajasthan, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 3,065 cases in 2019.

National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data shows that a girl or woman’s vulnerability to rape has increased by 44 percent in the last 10 years. According to NCRB data, during the period 2010–2019, a total of 3,13,289 cases were registered across India.
