Akbar's mother decides to take all the responsibilities of Akbar until Akbar is gets well. Meanwhile, Shareef-ud-Din slaps a hakim, who predicted that Bakshi Banu will give birth to a girl. Shareef-ud-Din gets infuriated with his wife too as she too wishes for a girl child. He feels that a girl will be an insult for the family. He conveys his wish that he needs a boy to take forward his family. Just then, Jodha enters and feels the tension between Shareef-ud-din and Bakshi Banu. Bakshi Banu later asks Jodha to not come to meet her as she is disgusted with her husband's behaviour.
