Jodha meets Akbar and asks him as to whether he will be upset if she gives birth to a girl, and Akbar replies by saying that he will be more than happy and even decides name for the child. He also tells her that even a girl can rule the kingdom like any man. Meanwhile, Bakshi Banu is about to give birth to her child and Shareef-ud-din is desperately waiting for her to give birth to his son. Later, Akbar sees Bakshi Banu's cheeks turning red and enquires about it, but Bakshi Banu does not say the truth. Later, Rukaiyya Begum feels jealous as she is the only begum who will not have a child. In the meantime, Bakshi Banu gives birth to a girl but out of fear for her baby's safety, she lies to Shareef-ud-din that she has given birth to a boy. Later, while changing the baby's clothes, Jodha realizes that the baby is a girl.
