Sindoora accuses Vidya of only wanting to produce an heir and warns her that it will be of no use because neither the mad Sagar nor his insane child will acquire anything! She cautions Vidya that she will be spending her entire life with a mad husband and a mad child! Kaushalya overhears and pacifies her. Shalu asks Vidya whether she also desires to have a `normal' husband, so Vidya replies that she will always be grateful to God for giving her a husband like Sagar, irrespective of what others say. On the other hand, Sindoora instigates Sagar not to run to Vidya for every little thing because he is a big boy now but he replies that she is very nice and he feels good being with her. Sindoora says to herself that Sagar is in love with Vidya, and she certainly does not want Vidya and Sagar's heir in the house! The next morning, when Vidya brings an expensive wedding attire for Shalu, Hema says that they cannot afford the suitable jewellery that would go with the dress.
