Surili puts on a charade and lies that she had mentioned to Sagar about being pregnant before he had left for the US, and he had been delighted then. She says that fate, however, had other plans. Cheenu accuses her of jilting Sagar but Surili replies that nobody would have believed her if she had said that Samir is Sagar's baby because his family never approved of her. Surili says that she was forced to send Samir to the orphanage because she was unable to fend for herself, and also soon learnt that Sagar had got married. Sindoora demands to know the name of the orphanage, so Surili replies that it is Asha Kiran. Aniket phones the orphanage and learns that Surili had left a year old Samir there, and the father's name was Sagar Pratap Singh. Vidya is devastated. Sindoora says that Surili does everything for money. Cheenu mentions to Aniket and Sindoora about the fallout between Surili and Sheel in Goa. He also narrates about Surili stealing money from Vidya's purse. Aniket promises to teach Surili a lesson. He asks Surili to get a blood test done to confirm Samir's parentage. Vidya tells Uma and Kaushalya that fate always puts her to test at every juncture. She asks Uma whether Surili and Sagar were very close, so Uma replies that they were. Uma further says that it is very likely that Samir is indeed Sagar's child. Vidya is shocked!
