The wedding preparations of Abhi, son of Anna Naik, are in full swing at their ancestral home. Just then, Anna meets with a heart-attack and dies on the spot! During his last moments, Anna has strange visions of some dead people. It is further revealed that Anna, one of the richest people around, misbehaved with his family members and mistreated the villagers during his heydays. Anna’s brother, Aaba, and his son, Kashi, visit him, but after their verbal altercation, Anna does something shocking!

Indu, Anna's wife, is petrified over the recent happenings. Anna's aim on Kashi misses but lands Kashi in deep trauma. Anna's misbehaviour starts showing its impact on his daughter as well. Seeing Kashi's pitiable condition, an angry Vacchi vows to teach Anna a lesson. Alone in the kitchen, Indu gets further terrified seeing the atmosphere around and develops a sudden stomach ache.

Madhav comes home crying after being teased at the school. Indu consoles Madhav and slaps Chhaya for teaching bad habits to him. Unable to tolerate Vacchhi’s abusive language, Indu faints. After regaining consciousness, she goes through severe stomach ache. Hearing Indu’s groans, Nana, Anna’s father, calls a nurse. Just when the nurse arrives, a pin-drop silence spreads in the mansion owing to some supernatural powers.

Much to Nana's horror, the nurse informs him about the four-month-old dead foetus being bewitched by some black magic. However, Anna who is unaware of the seriousness of the situation, ignores Nana's words. An unknown lady named Bhivri, who is dressed like a tribal woman and spits fire through her words, comes to Anna's house along with a small kid. While Bhivri narrates the story of Anna's deceit and claims Anna to be the father of her kid, Anna comes and pulls her closer.

When Anna accepts Bhivri and lets her into the house, Indu immediately shuts the doors and windows of the house to avoid the spread of the news throughout the village. Nana feels guilty for ruining Indu's life by getting her married to Anna and he apologizes to Indu for the same. Upon entering the house, Bhivri not only captures the house, but also instigates Anna against Indu. A shrewd and inhuman Anna plans to kill Indu on the same night, with the help of Bhivri.

When Indu learns about Anna and Bhivri's conspiracy against her, it scares her to death. While Nana worries about Indu and the grand-children's wellbeing, Indu reassures him. At midnight, Anna kills Bhivri while pretending to get intimate with her. However, Bhivri's son wakes up. When Anna tries to kill him as well, a determined Indu, who witnesses everything secretly, intervenes and stops Anna. Anna witnesses some paranormal activities when he goes outside to bury Bhivri.

When Anna wakes up to find all the doors and windows closed, he rebukes everyone for it and boasts about his invincible power. Although Indu asks Madhav and Chhaya to treat Bhivri's son as their brother and christens him as Datta, Chhaya refuses to accept him as her brother. Meanwhile, a distressed Aaba Naik goes to the police station to lodge a complaint against Anna. Later, Vacchi pretends to regret her actions and apologizes profusely to Indu for her misbehaviour.

Frustrated with Chhaya's misconduct, Indu punishes her. Aaba and Kashi are surprised to learn about Datta staying alone at the ancestral home without Bhivri. Meanwhile, Chhaya, who dislikes Datta, misbehaves with him. Indu's heart breaks to see Anna giving inferior treatment to Datta. Displeased with the ill treatment meted out to him, a dejected Datta leaves the house without having dinner. Later, much to Indu's horror, she finds Datta in front of a bush planted by Anna, talking alone.

Chhaya mocks Datta for the inferior treatment given to him by Anna. Along with greedy Raghu and Nene, a surly Anna hoodwinks a poor villager and tricks him into signing the land papers. On Nene's instruction, the police registers Aaba and Kashi's complaint against Anna. When Indu approaches Datta, who seems preoccupied and lost, he asks her about Anna's arrest. When he points at a tree and informs Indu about the information being shared with him by Bhivri, it sends shivers down her spine.

Indu explains to Datta that he is hallucinating as Bhivri is never going to return. Upon Chhaya's prodding, Madhav asks Anna about his arrest and gets beaten up. A distraught Anna drinks heavily on learning about him being the subject of gossip everywhere because of his arrest. Anna's weird behaviour agonizes Indu and Nana. While alone in the room, Anna feels someone's presence and goes outside to check. However, much to his horror, he sees a freakish and eerie ghost of Bhivri.

Upon reaching the ancestral home of Naiks in search of Anna, the police interrogate his servant, Tatya, to get information about Anna. A heavily drunk Anna reaches home at midnight and creates a ruckus in his state of intoxication. However, a worried Indu requests Nene, who is a lawyer by profession, to save Anna from getting arrested. When Nene alerts Anna regarding his arrest, the police also reach there at the same time which shocks Indu.

After learning about the arrival of the police, Anna bribes Nene to close the matter by giving him money. Anna confidently goes to the police station. However, Nene does not give the money to the police and deceives Anna by lying about bailing him out using the money he gave to him. On returning home, a livid Anna beats Tatya to death. At midnight, Anna goes out of the mansion after hearing something, and sees Tatya’s spirit standing in front of him.

Upon visiting Anna's ancestral home, Nene and Raghu take Anna's signatures on some papers by cajoling him. Later, Nana frightens Anna by speculating about Pandu testifying against him, assuming Pandu had witnessed Tatya's murder. Scared at the thought of being hanged, a panicked Anna finds Pandu talking to a scarecrow clothed in Tatya's clothes and locks him in a room for perpetuity. Further, he threatens Indu by saying that he will kill Pandu if she ever attempts to free him.

The noise of Indu sweeping the balcony reminds Anna of Tatya and he gets angry with Indu. Nana, who is already frightened due to Anna’s deranged behaviour, starts shivering when Anna shouts at him from the top of his voice. Chhaya purposely keeps Anna’s gun in Madhav’s hand and Madhav gets a bashing from Anna. Anna sees Indu giving food to a locked Pandu and throws the food away in anger. Later, while returning to the house, Anna spots Tatya’s spirit in place of the scarecrow.

Anna leaves for his home with a gun after learning from Nene that a public works department's officer, Patankar, is in the village for road widening work. Frustrated with Patankar's constant transfers, his wife argues with him. When Anna reaches there, his eyes land on Patankar's wife. Bewitched by her beauty, Anna deliberately gives possession of his land near the road to the officer. When Patankar leaves for an errand, Anna starts talking to his wife and learns that her name is Shewanta.

A nervous Indu worries about the twitching of her right eye believing it to be a bad omen. While playing with Madhav and Datta, Chhaya gets injured. Elsewhere, Nene reveals the truth about Anna's land to Raghu and bribes Raghu to save the land from being lent to Patankar. Upon recieving the grocery sent by Anna, Shewanta looks impressed. Meanwhile, Aaba goes to visit Patankar's house upon Vacchi's instruction. Later, Patankar predicts a shocking misfortune when he reads Anna's palm.

During dusk, the holy basil tree is set ablaze due to the lighted oil lamp. Upon seeing the basil tree burning into flames, a wave of shock passes through Nana and Indu. At midnight, when the sound of sweeping outside the house wakes an intoxicated Anna, he witnesses the spirits of Tatya and Bhivri on either side of him. Later, upon finding Shewanta alone at home, Anna visits her. While a fit and fine Nana collapses suddenly, a heartless Anna keeps on laughing like a maniac looking at him.

Suspecting Anna to be responsible for Kashi's broken marriage, Vacchi abuses him. When Anna gifts an expensive sari to woo Shewanta, the truth about her being pregnant with Anna's child gets revealed. Meanwhile, Indu keeps feeding a locked Pandu without Anna's knowledge. After many years, Anna opens the door of Pandu's room due to the function at home. However, everybody gets shocked to see a dishevelled Pandu, covered with insects and with long-grown unkempt hair and beard.

When Pandu comes out of the room after ages, Indu introduces him to her children, including her youngest son, Abhiram. Later, Datta transforms Pandu's dishevelled appearance. At home, everyone is busy with preparations of the impending visit of the family for Chhaya's marriage alliance. Meanwhile, a greedy Shewanta is shown to have birthed an illegitimate child of Anna. Later, when Anna and Shewanta get intimate with each other, Patankar reaches home, leaving Shewanta shocked.

Rain pours down heavily while the family of Chhaya’s prospective groom waits for Anna to talk about the particulars of the marriage. Shewanta informs the Patankars that Anna has returned home due to the heavy rain and hides her immoral relationship with Anna from them. Shewanta and Patankars insist Anna to have dinner with them. Chhaya breaks off the marriage when her prospective groom mentions seeing her umpteen times in the movie theatre. Later, Anna goes to the cemetery by mistake.

Indu slaps Chhaya for her rude behaviour leading to breaking of her marriage alliance. Upon following the sweeping sound outside the house, Anna hallucinates Tatya's ghost and points a gun towards it. However, in reality, it turns out to be Pandu instead of Tatya. Later, Vacchi cunningly spoils the coconut that is supposed to be offered to god. However, considering it to be a bad omen, when Indu throws it away towards the jungle, it hits the boy accompanying Chhaya, making him unconscious.

Leaving the unconscious boy alone, Chhaya runs away. While Vacchi vows to wreck Indu's house, Abhiram falls ill upon returning home from the temple. Raghu and Nene once again trick Anna into signing the documents. Later, none of the remedies tried by Raghu work. Upon receiving no response to his knocks, Datta breaks the door of Chhaya's room. However, Chhaya manages to reach home in the meantime. Following Pandu's shrieks, when everyone checks outside, the blooded footprints scare everyone.

Indu gets worried as Raghu foresees something dangerous. Raghu prays to god for everyone’s safety and warns all the members against going out of the house at night. Chhaya tells Madhav that the blooded footprints were hers and threatens him to keep it a secret. At night, Datta and Indu see a shadow walking through the house. When Indu wakes up at midnight, she panics after not finding Abhiram by her side. When everyone searches for Abhiram, they find him standing with Chhaya near the well.

When Indu asks Chhaya what she was doing near the well, Chhaya rudely retorts her. Vacchi finalises a suitable match for Kashi. Pandu spots Chhaya with a guy and informs Datta that Chhaya has gone out. A furious Datta chases Chhaya and drags her back home. Indu reprimands Chhaya on learning about the matter. An annoyed Chhaya doesn’t go for dinner. When everyone goes to check on Chhaya, they find her swaying with her hair open and making some strange noises.

Under the pretence of being possessed by god, Chhaya expresses her wishes in front of her family. Believing it to be true, Indu sends her to a temple along with Datta. However, eluding Datta, Chhaya meets the boy outside the temple. Upon hearing Sontya's whistle, when Anna leaves Shewanta's house, he meets Patankar, who informs him about being transferred to a new village. Later, while talking to Patankar, Anna realises that he has forgotten his watch on the table at Shewanta's house.
