Rani asks Talukdar to go home and pray so that Goddess Annapurna saves him from humiliation. Chandra secures numerous sacks of food grains from a neighbouring family and asks Mathur not to visit Rangpur anymore. Mathur mentions that the number of starving people is on the rise, so he should visit Rangpur. Chandra asks him to take their ship from Kolkata. Jagadamba feels Mathur wants to run away from his responsibilities as a father. Rani wants to speak with Jagadamba after returning to Janbazar.
