Kay Kay Menon

Actor, Model

A Self-Made Star

This star has managed to make it big based on his talents and intensity. Kay Kay Menon is an actor who deserves his spot on the top echelon of Indian actors. He doesn't act but rather lives the roles, whether comedic, romantic, or dramatic. Kay Kay Menon does it all with relative ease and complete conviction.

His Secretive Marriage With Nivedita

This actor has an incredible screen presence and is beloved by millions. He likes to keep a low profile and live a private life, rarely talking about it in interviews. However, her wife Nivedita gave us a peek into their marriage and has been more forthcoming. She and Menon first met each other during a rehearsal for a theater play. Being in the same group circle meant that they spent a lot of time together with one another. Slowly that friendship turned into love, and they got married to one another.

However, being introverted didn't feel like jumping on the roof and telling everyone about their marriage. They are a couple who likes to keep it low-key, and that's something all their fans respect about them.

Criticism of Star System

Kay Kay Menon has openly come out and slammed the star system for years. He has a deep belief that stars can be made by the system and the machinery around them. Menon sees the whole star system as a money game, and one can spend a lot of it to gain an advantage. The Public Relations (PR) system can help you gain fame and popularity easily.

He believes a real actor is born into the world and cannot be artificially manufactured. His criticism of the Star system hits a deep nerve for many struggling artists who have performed in theater for years. In today's time, looks are often more focused than talent, and Menon raises his voice against it.

Slams Nepotism

Nepotism has been the talk of the town for a while now, and it seems to be only gaining momentum. Many have squarely focused their attention on celebrities like Karan Johar and the Bollywood machinery. Kay Kay Menon, however, sees the problem as more complex and far encompassing than just this industry. In his mind, it exists in all spheres of life because it is deeply ingrained in the Indian psyche. All of us are to blame because we support the system that helps star kids gain blockbuster hits.

He hits the root of the problem and says what everyone knows but doesn't want to mention.

His Dislike of The Whole South-North Cinema

"There is no need to divide cinema region-wise. Except for the language, I don't see any difference in cinema made in any part of the world. By dividing cinema based on its region, we are only taking that language for granted,"

Kay Kay Menon has been a Bollywood actor but wants to branch out and do other regional cinema. Menon stated that he had not received many offers when asked why he hasn't acted in many south movies. He sees all the industries in the same light, with each making great and bad cinema.

When asked about the whole trend of making South remakes into Bollywood movies, he had this to say-

"I always want to be part of something new and original. If a film is worth being remade for a larger audience, I would love to be a part of it. I wouldn't mind being part of a remake if it's done effectively with a purpose, but we all know why remakes are made."

His Newfound Fame on OTT Platforms

Kay Kay Menon is an actor that has gained a lot of critical and public appreciation. Yet somehow, it always feels like he's not getting enough attention and support he deserves. You will often see his name missing or being sidelined from conversations of the great actors of our times.

Some have speculated that it's due to his lack of interest in connecting with Bollywood insiders or lack of prominent roles. Whatever the reason might be, Menon is now seeing a new resurgence on OTT platforms. His web series have gotten millions of views, and the old catalog of movies like Black Friday and Corporate is getting more views.

Kay Kay Menon is the finest actor of our times and also the most underrated. It's time to bandwagon behind this name and support every one of his projects. He's a performer known to play the gray and intense roles, making you sympathize with the villain.

He makes being bad look good.
