Mayura Movie Plot
The Kannada movie begins in Kanchi with a Brahmin kid named Mayura taking on a wrestler and winning. Mayura had no official training in wrestling and simply picked up the sport's fundamentals by watching other competitors. He had to study the Vedas because he was a Brahmin but had a strong interest in martial arts. After this wrestling match, Ranga Jetti (M. P. Shankar), Kanchi's top wrestler, takes him under his wing and trains him. After mastering all the martial arts, Mayura one day happened to get into a battle with a Pallava prince by accident and beat him up, earning him the prince's hatred. This happened as Mayura was watching the princes being trained. He discovers that Sivaskandhavarma, the Pallava monarch, killed Raja Chandra Varma, the Kadamba king. While the film develops the competition between Vishnugopa and Mayura, it also sheds light on the developing romance between Mayura and the Pallava princess Premavati and the mutually admired friendship between Mayura and the Pallava crown prince.
