Dost: A Comedy Drama Short Film by Charan Singh 

Dost is a story of four friends named Gaurav, Vivek, Shrey and Anirban, where Gaurav makes a groundbreaking announcement about his love life. He is about to get married to Madhumita, who has been a big crush on Vivek since childhood. The plot of Dost is constructed upon perspective and dialogues related to friendship, love and marriage.

When Gaurav announces his marriage, the conversation between Gaurav and Vivek gets heated. Still, the movie ends happily as Vivek understands that Gaurav and Madhumita are in love with each other.

Dost Movie Basic Details

The Dost movie was released on 11th January 2021. The Dost Director Charan Singh worked simultaneously for different roles including executive producer as well as the editor of the movie. The movie is co-produced by Black Dabba Productions and The Navya Project. Music, sound design, sound editing, and the final mix of the movie were managed by Vineeth Paul and Matthew Jennifer Joseph. 

The Dost Cast includes Gautam Marathe, Viral Patel, Shivanu Shukla and Aditya Mazumdar. The genre of this short film is comedy and drama. The movie is streaming on Zee 5, a famous OTT platform. 

Dost Movie Plot

The movie starts with Amitabh’s and Kishore’s song ‘Jahan Chaar Yaar Mil Jaayen', representing the theme of this entire movie. Then, four friends, Gaurav, Vivek, Shrey and Anirban hang out at Shrey's house after a long time for a couple of drinks, where Shrey cooks chicken tangri kabab and spicy aloo tikki for his friends.

Gaurav announces that he has found the right girl, and subsequently, Vivek, Shrey and Anirban congratulate him and get curious to know more about the girl. However, when Gaurav revealed the full name of the girl he was getting married to, it shocked everyone except Vivek because he thought it was a joke.

After Vivek learned that it was not a joke, he raged up. Vivek tried to convince Gaurav that he would find a better girl for him, but Gaurav denied it, as Madhumita and Gaurav were in love. After seeing Vivek disappointed, Gaurav tried to calm him by revealing that he first denied the proposal of Madhumita, but later, when they went on a date, things worked out. Gaurav revealed that Madhumita did not even know that Vivek had a crush on her.

Then Gaurav dragged the topic of Shweta as they supported Vivek when they wanted to marry Shrey's cousin, Shweta. When Vivek learned that Gaurav and Madhumita were in deep love, he got stuck in a dilemma. Vivek finally accepts  Gaurav and Madhumita as a couple and wishes them a happy married life. The movie ends with a happy ending and a "Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge" song.
