The movie starts with a young girl who encounters something very unusual. An ancient but incredibly evil situation. The young girl sees very absurd and disturbing images in her head. All these flashes reveal the shape of a strange giant alien creature surrounded by a miasma cloud in outer space.

The girl starts running from the planet from which it has been expelled. Standing next to one other are two people with white, lifeless eyes. Their lips are wide open while scary music plays in the distance, making the scene horrifying. With this mysterious past, the audiences are heading out to the future at the terrifying story of Black Site. 

Later in the movie, we see that as an adult lady, the same girl aspires to follow in the footsteps of her father and grandfather by becoming a field officer. However, she, unfortunately, failed to pass her psych evaluations because of her past encounters with the Elder God. Soon in the movie, it is revealed that the elder gods have taken up residence in human bodies with negative consequences to maintain their strength. Thus, the work of Field officers to send the Elder God back to their place, Black Site, became more professional and vital. 

Further, the movie reflects that everyone could see the impact of the Elder God on Ren's brain while she was young. Ren is suddenly thrust into action, nevertheless, when field operatives manage to capture the same Elder God who years earlier penetrated her mind and killed her parents. Erebus, the Elder God, is discovered in a criminal's body (Kris Johnson). The act reflects on Erebus and how Ren uses every means to expel him.
