Pookalam Varavayi: What makes Saptathi everyone’s favourite character?

The Malayalam serial Pookalam Varavayi is unimaginable without Saptathi’s (Arathy Sojan) presence. Known for her kind and compassionate nature, Saptathi always presents us with the best moments on the show. Saptathi recently learned about Sharmilla’s crooked moves, making her transform into a new bold version of herself. Her recent transformation is now adding to the fun on the show with her quirky exchanges with Sharmilla and Samyuktha (Mridhula Vijai).

#1 Saptathi prays for Harshan

Saptathi is made to believe all of Sharmilla’s lies about Harshan’s horoscope. Sharmilla makes her take an oath to not have a physical relationship with Harshan as it would mean his death according to his horoscope. Saptathi was put to a test as she struggles between the pressure of her oath to Sharmilla and Harshan’s feelings for her. Saptathi being pure at heart starts praying for Harshan’s health while staying away from him.

#2 Saptathi learns about Sharmilla’s lies

When Samyuktha tells Saptathi that she has been betrayed by Sharmilla’s lies, we get to see her in a new form. Saptathi lashes out at Sharmilla and tells her that she is going to make some changes in the house. Fun moments follow as Saptathi turns into a rebel and starts disobeying Sharmilla’s orders.

#3 Saptathi’s transformation surprises Samyuktha

Samyuktha was astonished in seeing her calm and composed sister Saptathi in an entirely new avatar. Saptathi starts talking back to Sharmilla and even shows Jyothirmayi her place. Saptathi is quick to take control of the kitchen and even makes Sharmilla pays for all of her expenses.

#4 Avantika feels Saptathi’s wrath

Avantika betrayed Saptathi when she lied to her about her suicide attempt to win her sympathy. Saptathi, being a loving person, quickly forgets their feud in the past and forgives her. Avantika takes advantage and starts moving against Saptathi in the dark. Once Saptathi finds out that Avantika is also scheming against her, she unleashes her wrath upon her. Saptathi slaps her and even makes Avantika work in the kitchen if she wants to stay with her.

#5 Saptathi makes Sharmilla starve

Pookalam Varavayi fans are all familiar with Sharmilla’s love for food. Once Saptathi takes control of the kitchen she announces to Sharmilla that she won’t be getting any food without helping her. Sharmilla demeans Saptathi by saying that she is showing off with her son’s money. Angered by the same, Saptathi tells her that she knows her history of crook and murder. Stunned by the unexpected reply from Saptathi, Sharmilla decides to starve instead of having the food.
