Jogmaya tells Rani about how she was worried about Anandamoyee and Chandra's association after Horochandra's death. However, Jogmaya had given Chandra's responsibilities to Anandamoyee. Rani realises that she must trust Mathur and Jagadamba. Meanwhile, Ramchandra gets hurt when Padma asks him to claim his share of Chandra's property. Padma asks Karunamoyee to touch Mathur's feet during the ritual of 'bou bhaat', but he stops her. Rani is relieved as Karunamoyee has got a husband like Mathur.
