Mother’s Day is just around the corner. It’s a good time to honour the contribution of the moms in our lives, especially the single mothers keeping things together at home during the lockdown. ZEE5 brings you two shows, Kumkum Bhagya and Hum Tum And Them, with single moms who are a one-woman army for their kids and for themselves.

Shiva is a divorcee who has gotten out of an abusive marriage. She tries to have a work-life balance which mostly involves taking care of her teenage daughter. Shiva also tries to make time for herself but she is afraid to fall in love. In life, she is strong and not afraid to speak her mind. She has a nurturing personality and tries to take care of her boyfriend’s three children as well.

Pragya is a single mother who lives apart from her husband but is not divorced yet. She is like a wise friend to her daughter Prachi, advising her in matters of life and love. Pragya is afraid to get back with her husband because she still loves him but feels that they are not meant to be together. She is a strong character who will fight with anyone from college principals to police officers if she feels any injustice is happening to her or her family.
