Hear It Out From The Actors Playing Addicts In ZEE5 Original Kailasapuram

The small township of Kailasapuram in Vishakhapatnam has a side to it that’s dark, dirty and messed up. The reason behind this mess is its youngsters. From intermediate students to salaried people, everyone is blissfully stuck in the vicious circle of drug addiction and peddling. Before you take a look at their crazy lives in the ZEE5 Original series Kailasapuram, listen to the actors who are playing these characters talking about the roles they have played. Here are edited excerpts:

Q. About being addicted to ganja (in Kailasapuram):

A. Shailaja: You have it twice and you are habituated to it. What’s the big deal? Shiva’s doing it, I am doing it.

Shiva: I used to hang out with Raju since childhood. That’s how I got into this habit.

Suresh: Who do I have other than Shiva? I started with him only.

Seenu: I couldn’t see my mother struggling for me and that’s why…

Q. The peddling business… (in Kailasapuram):

A. Shiva: We don’t know who runs the business.

Raju: But we have to answer the call, go to the given address, pick it up and drop it at the given address.

Shailaja: We just have to give it to the respective person. That’s it.

Q. About the habit of smoking ganja (in Kailasapuram):

A. Seenu: They call at times to threaten me from stopping the consumption of ganja, at the times when I think of quitting it entirely.

Suresh: I don’t enjoy it as much but since Shiva is doing it, I am also joining him.

Shiva: We don’t have to ask for money from parents. Just deliver the packets and we get the money. So we keep doing this.

Shailaja: I am doing this only for the money.

Q. About how the addiction started (in Kailasapuram):

A. Raju: I am addicted to ganja right from the beginning. It’s the peddling business that I have started recently.

Seenu: Just for fun, I did it once or twice. That’s it.

Shiva: It just becomes an addiction like that.

Q. About quitting ganja (in Kailasapuram):

A. Suresh: At times, I feel like quitting, but I am unable to do it.

Shailaja: What’s the big deal? You can quit whenever you feel like it.

Raju: I never had the urge to quit. But if the situations demand, I will.

Shiva: I tried to quit. But couldn’t do it.

Q. About life after 5 years (in Kailasapuram):

A. Seenu: I want to start my own business. I want to take care of my mother.

Suresh: I haven’t thought of that far. I’m living one day at a time.

Shiva: Even at that time, I want to live a nice and happy life, just like now.
