Vilasini’s loyal sidekick Jayanthi (Sumi Rashik), is known for her peculiar sense of humour on the Malayalam serial Chembarathi. Be it her love for food or being brutally honest, Jayanthi makes us gasp for air with laughter every time she appears on the screen. She is the only one who can comment on Vilasini (Sreepadma) and call her out for her stupidity. Despite ruining several of Vilasini’s plans earlier, Jayanthi (Sumi Rashik) stays loyal to her boss. #1 When she accidentally eats Vilasini’s spiked sweets

Vilasini and Jayanthi have given us some of the most hilarious moments on the show for their many failed plans against Kalyani (Amala Gireeshan). During one such endeavour, Vilasini spikes some sweets with poison to make Kalyani fall unconscious during Akhila’s pooja. Vilasini’s plan backfires when Jayanthi, uses her foodie instincts to sniff out the sweets and eats them. Vilasini beats her black and blue when she figures out that Jayanthi ate the entire box of sweets.

#2 Intoxicating Ganga’s father

Being Vilasini’s trusted sidekick, Jayanthi once gave a spiked juice to Kalyani to make her intoxicated. Ganga’s father who attends the function notices Jayanthi compelling Kalyani to drink the juice. He accidentally saves the day by taking the juice from Jayanthi and consuming it. Jayanthi gets ridiculed again as Ganga’s father starts blabbering in front of the family members when he drinks the spiked juice.

#3 Appreciating Kalyani in front of Vilasini

If bad timing was a superpower, Jayanthi would have been the only superhero from Chembarathi. While Vilasini is frustrated by her plans failing, Jayanthi makes her grand entry. Holding a bowl of a tasty snack made by Kalyani, Vilasini starts applauding her culinary skills in front of Vilasini. Infuriated by Jayanthi’s honesty, Vilasini starts to strangle her. Jayanthi can thank Nandana who arrives right in time to save her from Vilasini’s anger.

#4 Getting caught sleepwalking with Vilasini

As Jayanthi gets up for her usual mid-night snack, she notices about Anand returning home late from work. She is quick to call her boss Vilasini and informs her about the same. Both of them get ready to catch Kalyani red-handed, but Anand’s plan outsmarts them. As Anand switches off the power, Jayanthi and Vilasini get hold of each other and falls down in the dark. The best moment happens when Akhila yells at them for sleepwalking together late at night.
