During this lockdown, keeping the children engaged all the time at home can be quite a task. While you are engaging and entertaining them with books, indoor games and of course kids films, you can also cook some delicious dishes that would hardly take less than 5-10 minutes. And if the kids are exhausted with their daily routine, you can make them help you in making this super fun, easy and delicious snacks at home.

So, check out these kid-friendly snack recipes that you can try while working from home during this lockdown.

Maambazha Chocolate Kuzhipaniyaaram

Kuzhipaniyaaram is a traditional South Indian dish that is very popular in Tamil Nadu.

  • To prepare this, all you need is wheat flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, a pinch of salt. Mix them.
  • Take 2 medium-sized chopped mangoes; Blend till smooth.
  • Add water in the mango puree as required.
  • Then heat the paniyara chatti/paniyaram pan with little ghee (as required) in each hole.
  • Once its hot, add a spoonful of batter and the mango puree.
  • To see if the paniyarams are done, use a toothpick to insert it in the centre. And if it comes out clean, there you have your traditional snack, which is blended with Mango and Chocolate – a delicious snack called Maambazha Chocolate Kuzhipaniyaaram.

Noodles Pakoda

Noodle Pakoda is the easiest item, I have ever come across.

  • All you need to do is take a bowl, add juliennes of cabbage, carrot, green bell pepper, onion, green chillies, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, crushed coriander, cumin seeds and as much salt required.
  • Now mix them all thoroughly. After mixing it properly, please add boiled noodles, and mix them well once again before you drop them in a hot frying pan.
  • Now, let it deep fry until it’s golden brown in colour. Once done, you can then transfer the pakodas into a paper towel.

Well, noodles pakoda can be done like in less than 5 minutes!

Masala Puri

  • The common ingredients in most masala poori variants are wheat flour, onion, coriander leaves, green chillies, turmeric, salt turmeric powder, red chilli powder, oil and water as required to make poori dough.
  • Mix them well and roll it out into small discs.
  • Now, drop them in a hot frying pan and there you have your masala puris.

Serve them hot! Masala Puri, which is a popular street food recipe of North India, you can now make at your home and enjoy it while you catch up on a movie on ZEE5!
