Wajid Khan Laid To Rest In Mumbai As The Music Composer Passes Away At 42

Music composer Wajid Khan of the Sajid-Wajid fame, who passed away earlier today, was laid to rest at the Versova cemetery.

Music composer and singer Wajid Khan passed away in the early hours of Monday after suffering from kidney ailments. He was laid to rest at the Versova Kabrastan in Mumbai, in the presence of a few loved ones which included brother Sajid Khan and Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi too. Additionally, Wajid’s wife Maryam Asif Siddiqui was present during the last rites of her husband along with her children.

Wajid passed away at the age of 42. He had last worked with megastar Salman Khan for his Eid special song Bhai Bhai. The Sajid-Wajid duo is known for several other classic songs like Chin Ta Ta Chita Chita, Fevicol Se, Hud Hud Dabangg, and others.

Composer and singer Salim Merchant, a close friend of Wajid, confirmed that he had been on the ventilator for the last four days. “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical,” said Merchant.
