Sooryavanshi is the film directed by Rohit Shetty that stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead role. The cop-universe film had a theatrical release on November 5. Since then the film is making a massive buzz at the box office. People are showering their love on the film and are making sure that they watch the film on the silver screens. As a result, the box office collection of Sooryavanshi is increasing tremendously.

The Rohit Shetty film is expected to easily cross Rs 75 crore mark in the first three days, as per early estimates. This will make it the highest first weekend gross for an Akshay Kumar film. Sharing Sooryavanshi’s first-weekend box office collection, Box Office India shared the initial trends, “The film has notched up Rs 50 crore net in two days and it’s looking like a three day weekend of Rs 77 crore net. If the Sunday comes out higher than day one it would be a huge achievement by the film as that first day is the highest collecting day at the box office.” Trade analyst Joginder Tuteja tweeted that the film will earn between Rs 77-80 crore in the first weekend.

If we see the box office collection of the earlier released films of Akshay Kumar, we can easily identify the rise in the collection. From Jolly LLB 2 to Kesari all his films were ranging between Rs 50-55 crore. Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal had Rs 70.02 cr while Good Newwz made Rs 64.99 cr at the box office on the opening weekend.

Speaking of the film Sooryavanshi that is directed by Rohit Shetty, it is the fourth repetition in the cop universe. Other than Akshay playing a police officer, the film also had cameos from Ajay Devgn’s Singham and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba. The film was delayed several times due to Covid-19 associated lockdowns.
