On November 26, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh released the teaser for his much-anticipated sports drama 83. ’83, directed by Kabir Khan, is about India’s World Cup victory in 1983 when the team defeated West Indies in the final, to claim their first World Cup championship. Ranveer Singh posted a 59-second video on social media that reproduced West Indies veteran Vivian Richards’ memorable expulsion from the contest.

’83 also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Amrita Puri, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, and Harrdy Sandhu in addition to Ranveer and Deepika. Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, and Sahil Khattar will play important roles in the film. The teaser begins with a crowded Lord’s Cricket Ground cheering on the Indian team, followed by Madan Lal bowling to Richards. Singh’s aka Kapil Dev goes in and grabs the catch after the West Indies batsman plays a pull shot. Richard’s expulsion was one of the decisive events that swung the game in India’s favor.
