Ranbir Kapoor Backs Out Of The ‘Baiju Bawra’ Remake, Here’s Why!

Reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor has opted out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra remake. The actor is quite confused about promising this new project to the filmmaker.

Of late, Bollywood has heavily invested in the renewal of some classic projects. And Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be a new entrant in this arena of remakes. Yes! The filmmaker has sought inspiration from the 1952 musical period drama ‘Baiju Bawra’ for his new project. Moreover, the interesting part of this new venture is that Bhansali will be reuniting with actor Ranbir Kapoor after a long time. While fans were more than excited by the news, it seems that Ranbir is having second thoughts about this project

Earlier this year, it was almost confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor will be featuring as one of the leads in the Baiju Bawra remake. Alongside him, actors Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt were also in talks to play other vital roles. However, now it seems that Ranbir is quite confused about promising this new project.

“Ranbir has expressed his confusion to Bhansali and the team as well. He is not sure of Baiju Bawra and with another Dharma project in his kitty,” an industry insider informed. Also, the source went on to share that Ranbir did not have a “great experience” working with SLB on Saawariya. And thus, the actor is having second thoughts about signing this new film.

Furthermore, the reports state that Ranbir might opt out of the Baiju Bawra remake albeit nothing was “locked” on papers. And as the reports of Ranbir’s exit made rounds, it was assumed that Kartik Aaryan might step in to replace the actor. However, the source reveals that Kartik’s visits to the SLB office are just “pleasantry meets”. As of now, no offer has been made to him.

Coming back to Ranbir Kapoor, there’s no clear revelation about his decision to back out from the SLB project. On the work front, the actor has big releases lined up ahead. This includes Brahmastra, Shamshera, and Luv Ranjan’s next.
