The cult Punjabi classic Long Da Lishkara narrates a love story way ahead of its time. We have heard stories where love is unrequited due to many social stigmas and the film tackles one such taboo. Do we need to check economic status before falling in love? Do we need to measure love on the basis of bank balance or preset notions? Love stands apart from all these prejudices, and this is what Raja (Raj Babbar) and Preeto (Harpreet Deol) convey in the film. We are here to share some adorable, lovable moments between the duo that make this film special.

When Raja returns home from Canada, he brings gifts for everyone. He even gifts a dress to Preeto, but when she looks at the dress she refuses to take it and runs away. Raja follows her and he tries to explain that God has given her a beautiful body and she should wear the dress as she will look pretty in it. While trying to convince Preeto, Raja flirts with her, but it takes her a moment to understand that Raja likes her! Her obtuseness makes the scene funny and cute at the same time.

Preeto accepts Raja’s gift and wears the dress the next day. Everyone in the village — children, men, and women — is laughing at Preeto for dressing like a firangan. But when Raja sees her, he is stunned by how beautiful she looks. He sings a song to praise and mollify her. Preeto is feeling awkward in the clothes, but after Raja’s attention, she feels a lot more confident in her own skin.

Channa (Gurdas Maan) gives a ring to Preeto and tells her to give it to Raja. On the way home, Preeto is followed by goons and Raja rescues her. A worried Preeto asks Raja why he risked his life for her. Raja replies that if she’s with him, then nothing can go wrong. Raja sees the ring and asks her about it. Preeto says that Channa has given this ring for him. Raja holds out his hand and asks her to put the ring on his finger. When Preeto puts it on, Raja kisses the ring. He tells Preeto that he considers them engaged because of the ring. That’s how Preeto comes to know of his feelings for her.

Here, Raja is holding Preeto in his arms and comparing her beauty to a rose. Preeto is also lost in Raja’s eyes. She pulls Raja closer and it is implied that they kiss.

Here, Preeto brings tea for Raja and pours it while flirting with him. To make the tea sweeter, Preeto sips from the cup and then offers it to Raja. However, Raja is lost in his thoughts and ignores Preeto’s cute gestures. This makes Preeto angry and she leaves. Even though her romantic overture fails, it is still an adorable moment as Preeto shows him love in the only way she knows how.
