We are glad to be born into an era where we can smell the fresh air of freedom with the legalization of article 377, which gives the homosexuals a right to love whoever they want. We know love is love and so does Bollywood

Indian cinema has constantly been breaking stereotypes through movies. Even though the idea of homosexuality was a blur and a taboo, Indian cinema has gifted us films that made us understand that love has no bounds and mean differently to many other people. After a decade-long wait and numerous protests from different sides, homosexuals are legal, and Bollywood isn’t shying away from showing it. Here are Bollywood flicks that portrayed Lesbians the right way.

1. Kareena Kapoor and Shahana Goswami in Heroine:

Madhur Bhandarkar has been known for making films on controversial topics. Be it the world of fashion or the life of a crime journalist, he has always come up with a powerful message in his films. In the movie, Heroine, Kareena Kapoor plays an actress who sees the ups and downs of her life. We got a glimpse of Kareena getting all steamy with Shahana for a one night stand. Although not lesbians on screen, they gave the message of homosexuality very well.

2. Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi in Dedh Ishqiya:

Indian cinema has been daring and shown us how to face the reality of the harsh world. We just lost it when we saw the dance diva, Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi indulging in a secret love affair in Dedh Ishqiya. Who would have thought that the movie meant to be a romantic movie involving couples would have a different track? Madhuri and Huma played the role well and were applauded for their performance.

3. Sunny Leone And Sandhya Mridul In Ragini MMS 2:

We never expected the sequel to the original horror movie, which had many R-rated scenes, would have such a glorious turn. This film had a steamy kiss between Sunny Leone and Sandhya Mridul. Sunny Leone has always been voicing her message of freedom, and the kiss spoke volumes about how open we should be about homosexuality. Both the women didn’t shy away from acting in the film.

Well, if Bollywood is constantly evolving, why can’t we?
