Here’s why we think Pankaj Tripathi is the best choice for the role of Bharat Lal ‘Mritak’ in ZEE5’s Kaagaz.

Pankaj Tripathi has become every Indian cinephile’s favourite actor since the last couple of years. After his role in the film Gangs of Wasseypur and its sequel, the audiences were able to recognise his potential and hail his acting proficiency. Since then, no one has been ever doubtful of his role in any film. His next release is a satirical film, titled Kaagaz, on ZEE5 and his ardent fans are looking forward to it.

Watch the trailer here:

Kaagaz is a satirical drama-comedy film, that is based on a true story. Pankaj Tripathi plays the lead role of Bharat Lal ‘Mritak’, a man from a small village, who is declared dead in government records, while he is still alive. The film is about his fight with the system to prove himself alive.

From the trailer, we can see that Pankaj Tripathi seems to be absolutely nailing this role. Known mostly for his roles as a common man facing struggles, we know this brilliant actor is the perfect fit for the role. His calm demeanour in his roles, his voice, and his mannerisms, which feel so real, make him the perfect choice for this role.

Pankaj Tripathi was also appreciated for his role of an open-minded father from a small town in Bareilly Ki Barfi, and also for his serious and brooding role in The Tashkent Files. In Kaagaz too, we see him make the character of Bharat Lal look so convincing that we can’t help but praise the genius performer.

He has also given a prominent performance on television. He has played the negative role of Dushyant Singh, in the television show Sarojini. His role as the dominating antagonist earned him a lot of praise in the television world, too. You can also watch his performances in Nil Battey Sannata and the short film, L.

Being an alumnus of the National School of Drama, Pankaj Tripathi has been able to breathe life into his characters impeccably. His sensibility and simplicity give him an edge for his role in the film Kaagaz.

Watch yet another brilliant performance by Pankaj Tripathi, in Kaagaz, premiering on ZEE5 on 7th January.
