Actress Kamna Pathak who rose to fame with the popular comedy show Happu Ki Ultan Paltan celebrates her birthday today. In the show, she portrays the role of Rajesh, who is the wife of the Nyochhavarkhor daroga (corrupt Police officer), Happu Singh and a mother of nine notorious kids. The show started in the month of March and in the span of just around two months, the show has become everyone’s favourite. Talking about her look, when we saw her first look, we were immediately reminded of the Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and her role in the Salman Khan starrer Dabangg. But later, the actress with her acting stints made sure that she has her own touch to it.

Today we thought of sharing some interesting facts about the actress that you probably didn’t know before. Without much ado, let’s get rolling.

The way she portrays the role of Rajesh is highly appreciated by her fans and co-actors like Yogesh Tripathi and veteran actress Himani Shivpuri. Not many of her fans know that this might be her debut TV show but she has been in the theatre plays for the last 15 years. While talking to a leading daily she said that the first time she performed on the stage was at the early age of 5 (bows with respect). With some popular plays like Chanakya, Aakhri Shama, Moteram Ka Satyagraha, Kabuliwala, The Beast In Beauty and Jab Khuli Kitab, the actress has also worked in an English movie named Mango Dreams. Impressive isn’t it?

Before Happu, she was a part of a TV reality show but she was not the contestant. The show was based on the concept of acting competition between small kids and experienced actors were supposed to mentor the kids. The fact that she gets along well with kids, helped her and the kid she mentored became the winner of the show.

The makers of the show wanted to cast a person who was fluent with the Kanpuri language and not only speak but also express herself with emotions and add own flavour to the character. Belonging to the same region, Kamna was very much familiar with the language and the tone. The makers were satisfied with their selection but Kamna went a step ahead and took training from her mother to express herself in the language better. We must say, Kamna’s hard work and dedication are worth appreciating.

If you have been watching the show regularly then you might be aware that recently we saw the competition between Amma and Rajesh for being the best singer in the Daroga house. We have seen Rajesh singing while cooking and doing other household chores. Not many of her fans are aware that she and the director decided to make her character sing in the show. Another challenging thing for the actress was to play the role of 9 notorious children and that too at an early age of 27. But we were even surprised when the actress shared in one of her interviews that she played the role of an extremely aged woman at the age of 17. For Kamna, the role of Rajesh was exciting and challenging at the same time as she loves being surrounded by kids. She also added saying that this role the first of its kind which why gave her an opportunity to explore and she made the most of it.

While acting for various plays and projects, she travels to new places, cities and countries. Taking this as an opportunity, she makes a point to satisfy her tastebuds with the authentic delicacies. Recently, when the cast of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan went for promotions to Lucknow, she made sure that she visits every popular place and tries the food there. She not only ate but also packed it for later, well that’s what every foodie does but nobody ever told you.
