A family drama starring Sanam Baloch and Mukeel Azmi, the show Durr-e-Shahwar is the story of a middle-aged woman. Durr-e-Shahwar helps her daughter Shandana, recover from a marital feud, and advises her to keep the marriage intact. Her story is very inspirational. Durr-e-Shahwar marries young, and graces her husband’s house, only to realise that her mother-in-law despised her. She can be seen fighting against all odds to win over the love of her new family.
While Shandana’s life is different from her mother’s since she’s from a different generation, they still share a few things like marital woes and responsibilities. Shandana is a new-age woman, who believes in working and is shown as an ambitious lady who makes her dreams come true. But somewhere on the way, she forgets that relationships matter too. Durr-e-Shahwar teaches her daughter the importance of relationships.

Another important lesson that Durr-e-Shahwar instills in her daughter is the value of love. She says that one must work towards ta successful relationship, just like they work for their careers. She adds that this helps relations blossom.
Shandana feels that her mother does not understand her pains, but Durr-e-Shahwar’s marital story opens the blinds Shandana has put over her eyes, and she sees her mother in a new light. Shandana also starts blaming her father but her mother makes her understand that life can be difficult, and one must not blame a person for these difficulties.
Durr-e-Shahwar is a fresh new take, and a show that the millennials must watch as it would make their concepts of relationships clearer.
