Rani Mukherji, who turned a year older on March 21, has spent much of her life keeping her personal life out of the public. The actress is married to Aditya Chopra, the honcho of Yash Raj Films, and they have a daughter named Adira Chopra. When Rani Mukerji refused to film Saathiya, Yash Chopra threatened to lock up her parents, according to her. Rani had previously stated in an interview that her father Ram Mukherjee and mother Krishna Mukherjee went to Yash’s office to inform him that she did not want to feature in Saathiya. Saathiya is a love drama film directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Mani Ratnam and Yash Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It was released in 2002. Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukerji played key roles in the film. In addition, Shah Rukh Khan and Tabu made cameo appearances.

Rani stated in an interview that she went eight months without any employment before the film Mujhse Dosti Karoge. At the time, she was denying jobs to the point that her mother believed she’ll go insane since anything that was given to her was met with a resounding, That’s when she started making decisions. She just sat at home, Rani said when asked what she did throughout that period.

In addition, Rani Mukherji stated, Many film reviewers and publications had written her off, claiming that her career was gone, which she accepted. She said, They’re probably correct, but she’s not going to give up. She is going to do something that she is passionate about. Then Saathiya arrived, and she recalls Yash Chopra summoning her parents to the office. Her parents had gone to Yash Chopra to inform him that she was not interested in starring in this film. He phoned her up and told her that she was making a huge mistake and that he would lock the door of the room and not let her parents leave until she agreed to the film. And she expressed her gratitude to him for it.

On the work front, Rani Mukerji will next be seen alongside Saif Ali Khan in the YRF film Bunty and Babli 2. Rani was cast with Abhishek Bachchan in the first installment, which released in 2005. Abhishek is replaced by Saif opposite Rani in the sequel, directed by Varun V Sharma.
