A blockbuster cast

Fans celebrated megastar Chiranjeevi’s birthday in August as the team of his upcoming film had announced that the Telugu film tentatively titled ‘Chiru153’ will be called ‘Godfather’.

Thaman is the music director, while Nirav Shah will be in charge of the camera. Suresh Selvarajan and Yugandhar T are the production designer and VFX Supervisors, respectively. The movie is produced by Ram Charan, RB Choudary, and NV Prasad. The film will most likely be released in 2022. Rumours suggest that Nayanthara and Satyadev Kancharana have key roles. Telugu actor Satyadev Kancharana is on a roll enjoying the success of his recently released movies. Satyadev will be portraying the role of Vivek Oberoi from the original Malayalam film. This will be the first time where he will be appearing alongside the lady superstar Nayanthara as her on-screen husband.

Back to back movies

Another much-awaited Chiranjeevi movie is Acharya, an upcoming Indian Telugu-language action film. It is written and directed by Koratala Siva. It is produced by both Matinee Entertainment and Konidela Production Company. The film stars Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Kajal Aggarwal, and Pooja Hegde. The film was to be released on 13 May 2021 but faced multiple delays due to the pandemic in India. The film is now scheduled to release on 12 January 2022. Director Koratala Siva is shooting a song on the film’s cast on a set erected in Kokapet. The film’s post-production works have been completed simultaneously.

Acharya has also been subject to some controversies even before its release. In August 2020, writer Rajesh Manduri alleged that Acharya plagiarized from his script. He stated that he had narrated the story to production house Mythri Movie Makers a few years ago. Mythri Movie Makers refuted the allegation and called it a “gimmick.”
