1. Balli is a hot-blooded brat

The 2017 Punjabi film Channa Mereya has given us three unique discoveries — actress Payal Rajput, actors Ninja and Amrit Mann. As Mann turns a year younger today and celebrates his birthday, we take a look at his performance which shone in the Punjabi movie. Maan is a successful singer and has made an impressive start to his acting career with Channa Mereya. In the film, Amrit plays Kainat Dhillon’s (Rajput) brother, Balli Dhillon. He’s the one character which makes a lasting impression on us, so let’s discuss what made him so fearful and famous at the same time.

Watch Payal, Ninja, and Amrit in Channa Mereya here:

Balli is a hot-headed spoilt brat. He listens to no one and if you try to cross him, he will make you realise your mistake and you’ll end up asking for forgiveness. His temper is as fragile as a soap bubble and he can make your life a living hell. When Jagat (Ninja) dares to fall in love with his sister, Balli makes sure that his parents repent for it till the very end.

2. Balli is super arrogant

This is Balli’s biggest problem. He is arrogant and feels superior to everyone else. Balli’s arrogance is supported by his father MLA Shamsher Singh’s (Yograj Singh) power and position. Balli wears his arrogance on his sleeve. If you hurt his ego, you might as well dig your own grave. In the film, when a college professor dares to ask him about his identity, Balli slaps him and tell him to move out of his way. Socho itna arrogance…itni ego kahan le jaati hai bande ko.

3. Balli is stubborn

Do you think that kids are stubborn? Then you haven’t seen Balli and his level of stubbornness. After slapping a professor, the college principal and the teacher visit Shamsher Singh at his residence. But when they see Balli is not in the mood to apologise, the professor apologises instead! Balli clearly tells his father that he’s not at all ashamed of this fact. In fact, his ego is satisfied. When Kainat runs away with Jagat, Shamsher mellows down towards them with time, but Balli doesn’t. He’s too rigid to understand relationships and bonds.

4. Pride over blood

Now that’s the thinking that separates humans from demons. People like Balli are very proud of their family honour, power, position, and they don’t even think that all this is temporary. Balli can’t see a rich girl like Kainat thinking about getting settled with a financially-challenged guy like Jagat. When Kainat and Jagat have made their own world and they are happily blessed with a child, Balli comes in and destroys their paradise and kills them… just because Kainat went against their family and tarnished their honour. Balli is ruthless and heartless.

So these are some factors that make Balli Dhillon a walking nightmare. Kudos to Amrit Maan for making his debut with such a character and justifying it to such an extent that it becomes a memorable character from the film.
