Aghori is the newest entrant on ZEETV weekend fare. Airing right after the popular dance reality show Dance India Dance, Aghori is equally stunning in keeping the viewers attention. Here are a few still from the first two episodes of the show which set the tone of this supernatural romantic story, previously unseen on Indian TV.

Aghori starts off with Advik, played by Gaurav Chopraa, being brought back from his 10-year-long meditation. He is brought back with one purpose by Guru Ji. Advik is asked by Guru ji to bring him one girl as guru dakshina. Advik knows Guru ji wants to sacrifice the girl and give Guru ji the power of immortality.

Simaran Kaur plays the role of Kamakshi, the girl Advik is sent to bring back. She met Guruji when she was born. The Guruji saved Kamakshi’s life on the request of her parents, but he later tried to kill her and take her healing powers. He is met by opposition from another Aghori and Kamakshi escapes to earth while her parents die. When Advik comes looking for Kamaskhi, she is about to get married.

Kamakshi’s marriage is interrupted with a fire breaks out at the wedding. Kamakshi uses her healing power and saves on of the guest by simply touching her.

Guru Ji, is played by Parag Tyagi, who has previously appeared in Pavitra Rishta (watch the serial here) His greed for immortality made him ask Advik to kidnap Kamakshi and bring her to him for sacrifice. He saves Kamakshi from dying as a child but then wants her to be sacrificed to gain immortality. He uses Advik as his weapon to get to Kamakshi once she has grown up. However, Advik is not someone who will blindly follow Guru Ji’s instructions.

Watch out for the unique dynamic between Advik and Guru Ji.

Gaurav Chopraa is sent down to the city to find Kamakshi. He gets help from two more Aghoris. The Aghori Asmi who woke up Advik from his meditation, is also with him on earth to help him in the mission. Asmi is played by Charu Sharma who was also seen in Kumkum Bhagya and Purvi.

Aghori is a supernatural thriller with a romantic twist to it. Both Advik and Kamakshi have their own special powers. In the second episode itself. Advik and his group of Aghori’s have a battle with a rival group. The visual effects used will remind your of a few Hollywood movies. Advik even has a fight scene mid-air in the rain.

Advik has conflicting feelings about Kamakshi on Aghori. He comes down to kidnap her for his Guru Ji, but he hesitates when the moment arrives. He sees Kamakshi showering love and raining down flowers from the tree in the house and wonders what magical abilities she has. Advik ends up destroying the her new house, but he also goes in to save her from being killed, without being recognised.

Advik and his Aghoris try to ruin Kamakshi’s new house but then stop from doing so. Kamakshi’s uncle is worried about the destruction done to the house. Advik then disguises himself as a rich man who buys the home for a good price from Kamakshi’s father. However, Kamakshi faintly remembers Advik ask the man who saved her from the wreckage earlier. Advik and his gang of Aghori’s begin living in Kamakshi’s house.

Asmi and her partner are angry that Advik failed to kidnap Kamakshi when he had clear chances. Advik tells them that he wants to know about the people who attacked him first. This weekend Advik is presented with another chance to kidnap Kamakshi. Will he be able to fufill his mission? Stay tuned to find out.
