Adline Castelino’s Motto During Her Miss Universe 2020 Journey Is Inspiring

“Life is filled with obstacles, and the only way to cross them all is to never give up,” says Miss Universe 2020 3rd runner up Adline Castelino.

Adline Castelino, made India proud as she emerged as the third runner-up at the 69th edition of the Miss Diva Universe 2020 pageant. In a recent interview, Adline opened up about her path-breaking journey. She got personal and explained how she kept herself motivated in these trying times of pandemic. During the interview, Adline explained how her motto of not giving up gave her the strength to sail through the competition. During these testing times, Adline’s statements are all one needs to embrace to keep a positive mindset.

Adline talked about how she contracted COVID-19 a week before joining the competition. The diva had almost given up the competition but decided to choose against it. She stated that she was happy about representing the country at the international level, and also saw it as an opportunity to raise the COVID situation in the country to the world. When quizzed regarding her inspiration, she said that she always thought about being bigger than her problems. She said that there are many obstacles in everyone’s path and the only way to beat them is to instill confidence and become bigger than the problems.

Speaking about her journey to success amidst a pandemic, Castelino said to a portal, “My training was done virtually, there was a lockdown so we could not get things on time. I’d received my outfit just an hour before I’d leave for America for the competition. I contracted COVID, just a week before my pageant. After that, I was suffering from exhaustion, but I never had the time to relax and prep myself up.”

Having born and raised in Kuwait, Castelino, who moved to Mumbai later, always saw it as the ‘City of Dreams.’ Commenting on how she feels about representing India at an international level, she said, “Going through all this during my journey, instilled a lot of humility in it. We go through so much in our daily lives, even with the COVID situation, people who were going through coronavirus, their families, and the ones who have lost their loved ones to the infection messaged me to say that ‘You are the only source of hope for us in this time,’ and when you have such responsibility on your shoulders you want to do your best.”

When quizzed about her experience becoming the third runner, she said, “The journey and the struggle were to win it. I would say that I will keep on going, and people have lived that journey with me, as we were in a pandemic just a year ago.” Adline Castelino moved to Mumbai by herself at the young age of 15. She completed her further education in India and is currently preparing for her next pageant competition.
