Bollywood has been known for adapting popular films from other languages and South Korean movies are a big rage currently. Through the years, we have seen many beautiful remakes of Hollywood and South Indian films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Dil Bechara, Bodyguard, Drishyam and many more. India has recently seen a surge in the number of people who are interested in K-Pop. Bollywood also seems to be quite interested in South Korean movies and has been seeking inspiration from them for years now. Elaborating on which, here are some Bollywood movies that are actually remakes of popular South Korean movies.

Do Lafzon Ki Kahani

The romantic drama Do Lafzon Ki Kahani was a remake of the 2011 South Korean movie Always. Do Lafzon Ki Kahani featured Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. The story revolved around an ex-boxer and a blind woman who find solace in each other but they go through many hurdles in order to be with each other. The Korean movie starred popular actors  So Ji-sub and Han Hyo-Joo in the lead role.

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai

Salman Khan‘s upcoming movie, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is a remake of the South Korean movie, The Outlaws. The Korean movie is a famous movie in the country and it featured popular actors like Ma Dong-Seok and Yoon Kye-sang. Radhe revolves around Salman Khan’s character Radhe who is trying to stop drug trafficking in the city. The movie is set to release on May 13 in theatres and ZEEPLEX.

Ek Villain

The popular 2014 action thriller Ek Villain is a remake of the movie I Saw The Devil. Ek Villain featured Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles. The story of both films is almost the same with a man trying to take revenge from a serial killer for the murder of his fiancee. Ek Villain received lots of praises from critics and audience alike, just like the original movie.

Jazbaa

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback film Jazbaa was also a remake of a South Korean movie known as Seven Days. The story of the movie revolves around a lawyer whose daughter is kidnapped by an anonymous person and the lawyer is asked to defend a rape and murder convict and get him out of jail through court procedures. While Jazbaa featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Irrfan Khan and many other talented actors, Seven Days featured Yunjin Kim and Park Hee-soon in lead roles.

Aawarapan 

Emraan Hashmi’s popular movie Awarapan is a remake of the 2005 South Korean movie A Bittersweet Life. Awarapan revolves around a gangster who is tasked to keep an eye on his boss’ mistress who is a Pakistani girl. Aawarapan was highly praised by critics as well as the audience. The South Korean movie features Lee Byung-hun and Shin Min-ah in the lead roles.

Rocky Handsome

Rocky Handsome is the official remake of the 2010 movie The Man From Nowhere. The film features John Abraham and Diya Chalwad in the lead roles. The movie revolved around a man who is trying the take revenge on a drug mafia who has kidnapped a small girl with whom the man shared a special bond. The movie is remembered for its powerful action sequences and well-executed stunts performed by John Abraham.

Bharat

Radhe is not the first Salman Khan film which is a remake of a South Korean movie. Bharat was also a remake of the popular South Korean film, Ode To My Father. The South Korean movie depicts the history of the country from the 1950s to the present times. Bharat also had a similar approach where Salman Khan’s character Bharat’s life is depicted from the age of 8 to 70.
