Anamika, from ZEE5’s latest anthology series, called Forbidden love, is a must-watch for all couples who strive to keep their relationship healthy and happy.

Anamika is the second story in the four-film anthology series called Forbidden Love on ZEE5. The film is named after its protagonist (Pooja Kumar), who is a simple woman stuck in a failed marriage. When her life couldn’t get any duller, a young and charming boy named Ishaan (Aditya Seal) walks into her life like a breath of fresh air. But one must remember that all that glitters is not gold. Anamika learns something similar during her time with Ishaan. In a span of 40 minutes, Anamika teaches us several lessons about modern-day relationships. Here are some lessons that, we believe, can make a relationship better.

Watch the trailer of Anamika here:

1. The effort needs to be constant

In many relationships, we see how both the partners go the extra mile in their initial phase of togetherness. But as time passes, they start to take each other for granted and slow down on things that would excite the other person. It is simple things in life that remain with us until the end. If larger-than-life gestures aren’t your preferences, try incorporating small elements that would make your partner smile.

2. Conversations go a long way

In Anamika, we saw how having good conversations was not a part of the lead couple’s relationship. Anamika and her husband spoke about what they would eat and when they would return from work. But neither of them bothered about how things at work were or how they had been feeling after a long day. These small conversations lead to more important discussions that help in understanding each other and making sure that you are on the same page with your partner.

3. Express everything

Anamika refused to react while her husband resorted to yelling. It seems like they had no other way of communicating or expressing their feelings. Isn’t that problematic? Well, if one person decides to go cold turkey, the other must be warm and encouraging enough to allow the other person step out of their shell. Because failing to express your thoughts freely will do you or your partner no good.

4. Listen to understand, not respond

While talking about your feelings is extremely important, it is equally important to listen attentively. Each time Anamika’s husband scolded her, she hated him a little more. Anamika had gone silent at home and her husband didn’t even seem to notice. If they sat down and heard what the other person had to say carefully, they could have figured out the problem and fixed it.

5. Home is where the heart is

Anamika believed her life was somewhere in the unknown, but fate had a way to teach her otherwise. When you think everything is falling apart and you need to walk away, remember that you will be happy where you feel at home. Every time you feel like you need to end the relationship, remember the reasons that laid the foundation of it in the first place.
