The Bengali thriller web series Shikarpur is sure to enthrall audiences of all ages with its captivating scenes and photography in all its nine episodes.

Shikarpur revolves around a young photographer named Keshto. The first episode shows Keshto as an aspiring detective, who wants to follow the footsteps of his guru, Dindayal Biswas. He wants to take charge of the investigations into a spate of murders committed by a “ghost”, called so as the killer proves to be very elusive. How will such an amateur sleuth deal with the challenge of confronting a cold-blooded serial killer?

However, as the killings do not stop, Keshto gets the opportunity to employ his own methods at solving the case. He believes the murders are not being committed by a single person. Meanwhile, police inspector Biman rounds up some suspects and begins interrogating them even as Kestho independently pursues the case. Episode 3 of this web series brings another round of suspense by introducing a mysterious figure who walks into the Ghosh mansion.

Episode number 4 shows Keshto in a spot of bother as his investigation is not bearing any fruit. To further compound matters, he gets attacked by a frightening demon-like figure called “Pichla Bhoot”. How will Kestho deal with the twin pressures regarding his investigation and this new monster?

What Keshto does now is follow his intuition and bring the next possible victim to his home in a bid to protect the person. He hires an assistant named Boltu to help him out. Dindayal summons Keshto and introduces him to a person who could be vital to solving the murder cases. At the same time, inspector Biman comes up with evidence against the aspiring detective over some previous matter and has him arrested.

Keshto succeeds in getting bail and heads to Dindayal’s home, who gives him an address that could potentially help him nab the actual killer. His investigation finally bears fruit as Keshto is able to identify the murderer. However, he still feels everything is not settled following the revelations of fake identities and other secrets. Will his intuition help him again to bring the suspense to its right conclusion? Keshto and his assistant Boltu take another shot at solving the case, and the detective succeeds in nabbing a suspect right in the act. His assistant also comes across a vital clue.

Episode 9 shows Keshto establishing a common link between the murders, which helps him pinpoint the actual killer. However, something’s still amiss as Keshto feels that just the tip of the iceberg has been revealed. Can he get to the bottom of all this and unearth the ugly truth?

The setting of the action in the tranquil town of Shikarpur adds poignancy to the web series. The semi-urban locale surrounded on one side by tall hills amid lush, green landscape, gives the narrative a rustic charm, perfectly portraying life as one sees it in the villages and towns of Bengal.
