Hatyapuri is a Bengali movie based on Satyajit Ray’s famous fictional detective character, Pradosh Chandra Mitra. Pradosh, also known as Feluda, visits Puri for a vacation. Hatyapuri is based on the fictional private investigator Pradosh Chandra Mitra (Feluda), developed by Satyji Ray. The story of this movie revolves around the trio of Feluda, Jatayu, and Topshe, played by Indraneil Sengupta, Abhijit Guha, and Ayus Das, respectively. The story begins when the trio visits the coastal town of Puri on a leisure trip.
While visiting the town, they meet a man extraordinarily interested in manuscripts. He lives in a house with a group of people and loves to collect manuscripts as his hobby. Paran Banerjee plays this character, whose name is D.G. Sen.
The trio discovers that D.G. Sen has found some priceless ancient manuscripts. However, a buyer eagerly wants Sen to sell those manuscripts to him. The trio also ends up investigating a murder that happens in the town during their vacation.
The unfolding of the murder mystery and how the two incidents mentioned above are linked together form the premise of this story. The movie's second half gets even more interesting as the pieces fall into place, and the story starts connecting even more.
