Hema bursts into bouts of laughter under the influence of cannabis. Hema declares that Cheenu had got trapped and had not even realised it! Harsh tells Aniket that nothing had happened between Cheenu and Shalu the other night but Harish defends her. Sindoora tells Aniket that she suspects what Hema said to be true, but Aniket replies that no mother would malign her daughter. He says that Cheenu and Shalu had got carried away in a moment of passion. Meanwhile, Vidya says that Bharat and Sagar must have spiked Hema's drink. Vidya confronts them, so they reply that Cheenu does not want to marry Shalu. Vidya then asks Cheenu whether he is happy with his marriage, so Cheenu replies that he is unhappy but will fulfil his commitment and duty because to abide by one's duty is what he has learnt from Vidya. Cheenu promises her never to be unhappy again. Vidya says that although Shalu is still immature, she is good at heart. Celebrations are on for Cheenu and Shalu's `haldi' ceremony (applying of turmeric paste on the bride and groom).
