Acharya advises her to heed Damodar's wish and stay back. Her confidantes assure her that they would not only bring back Tatya Tope safely but break Ladai Sarkar's arrogance as well. Raghunath and the Prime Minister confront Ladai Sarkar in the battlefield and demand the release of Tatya Tope, and ask her to abide by the conditions laid. Tatya Tope and Nathey Khan start walking toward their respective camps when fire is lit near the ground filled with gunpowder. Ladai Sarkar gestures to Nathey Khan to run towards the galloping horse. Tatya Tope too runs but, unfortunately, steps on the ground covered with gunpowder and dies in the blast. Raghunath and the Prime Minister are shocked at his death. Acharya declares the end of the battle for the day. Laxmibai who is in her tent is shocked to hear the bugle because a battle ends prematurely only when a brave warrior or a royal member dies. Ladai Sarkar thanks Hamilton for helping her and is pleased that she has defeated Laxmibai. She seeks help from Hamilton and asks him to deploy his army as Laxmibai would be burning in the flames of revenge the next day.
