Kavita Kaushik Takes An Indirect Dig At Kangana Ranaut And Asks Why Priyanka Chopra Didn’t Receive Padma Shri?

After the huge controversy created by Kangana Ranaut stating that the country won freedom as ‘Bheek’ (alms) in 1947 and that the country received its actual freedom in 2014. This statement of Kangana revolted against her, as Swati Maliwal of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind, requesting that her Padma Shri be revoked. She also requested that the Queen actor be charged with sedition.

“These words demonstrate her disdain for our great freedom warriors like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and countless more who laid down their lives for the nation!” Ms. Maliwal tweeted in response to Kangana’s statements. We all know that the ultimate sacrifices and martyrdom of our heroic freedom warriors were necessary for our country’s independence from British domination.”

She asked the president to “kindly take cognizance of the matter and withdraw the Padma Shri honor bestowed upon Ms. Ranaut,” noting that Kangana’s statements have hurt the sentiments of millions of Indians and are “seditious” in nature.

However now, actress Kavita Kaushik also took an indirect dig at Kangana Ranaut by asking why Priyanka Chopra was not on the list of Padma Shri Award winners. Kavita Kaushik tweeted, “Why didn’t she get Padam Shree!? Fantastic actor, Brilliant human being, Globally a huge success and has put Indian culture on a pedestal without holding a flag about it! And yes has never insulted any senior or contemporary artist or anyone for that matter! She is awesome!!.”

Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, received India’s fourth-highest civilian honor, the Padma Shri, in 2016.
