83 Will Release in Theaters, Not OTT, Say Its Makers

The makers of 83 have announced that the film will get a theatrical release, no matter how much it has to be delayed.

The biographical sports drama film, 83, is currently one of the most anticipated releases of Bollywood. Now that the second wave of COVID-19 has once again closed the theatres, a lot of films are getting released on OTT platforms. However, reports say that the makers of the film have recently released a statement saying that 83 will not be released on OTT, it will definitely get a theatrical release. The film 83 is based on the Indian men’s cricket team that won the Cricket World Cup of 1983. The film stars Ranveer Singh as cricketer Kapil Dev, who was the captain of the team at the time, and Deepika Padukone as Romi Bhatia, Kapils Dev’s wife. Among the other members of the 83 cast are actors Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva Choudary, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar, and Amrita Puri.

83 is being directed by Kabir Khan, who is known for directing films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, New York, and Phantom. The film is being produced by a lot of production companies, two of which are Reliance Entertainment and Nadiadwala Grandsons Entertainment. Reportedly, the makers of the 83 have released a statement saying that no matter how much delay the release has to face, 83 will surely get a theatrical release. They have also expressed their confidence in the film and said that even if the release is delayed, 83 will perform very well at the box office. The makers have also said that they wish the film to earn Rs 300 crores at the box office.
