Cheslie Kryst died on January 30 after allegedly jumping off a 60-story Orion skyscraper in New York City at about 7:15 a.m. The 30-year-old, who was Miss USA in 2019 and served as a barrister and EXTRA host, was discovered dead on the ground and eventually recognised, as per a prominent daily, and her family issued a release through the LEPR Agency announcing her death later that day.

“We share the sadness and profound grief of our darling Cheslie’s demise,” the statement said. “Her enormous light influenced others all throughout the world with her elegance.” She genuinely cared, she adored, she smiled, and she shone. Cheslie represented love and helped people, whether as an attorney working for social equality, as Miss USA, or as an EXTRA host. Above all, as a daughter, sister, companion, advisor, and coworker, we know her legacy will live on. “As we interpret on our loss, the family requests privacy at this time.” the statement concluded.

EXTRA also issued a comment saying, “Our hearts are devastated.” Cheslie was not just an important component of our program; she was also a valued member of our Extra family who impacted the entire crew. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to all of her family and friends. The newspaper additionally stated that Cheslie resided on the ninth storey of the tower she allegedly leaped from, which is situated at 350 W. 42nd St, and was all alone at the time of the incident. According to the report, she was last seen on a 29th-floor terrace.

Cheslie was a reigning Miss North Carolina before becoming Miss USA, and she made quite an impact when she donned a spectacular glittering wings dress for the National competition that was a homage to deceased writer Maya Angelou’s I Know Why a Caged Bird Sings. Cheslie uploaded a beautiful close-up picture of herself with the caption, “May this day offer you rest and peace” just hours before she died.
