Manjunath Movie Plot

Based on true events, the film Manjunath depicts Manjunath Shanmugam as a student at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow. After graduation, he gets a job at Bharat Oil, a petroleum company. He gets posted in Lakhimpur Kheri, a district in rural Uttar Pradesh. Manjunath realises that his company mixes kerosene with diesel procured from the ration shops at cheap rates. He knows this kerosene is actually meant for distribution to poor people. Hence, he wants to raise his voice against corruption. 

One day, Manjunath suddenly goes missing. His friends get worried because they know Manjunath has been disturbed for some days. One of his friends finds him aggressive. He sends Manjunath to his hometown, and his parents convince him to quit his job. But he realises not to step back and fight. He takes the steps without worrying about the consequences of his actions. This suspense film showcases a common person's efforts to fight a powerful system. It gets nerve-wracking, with dangers for those who help Manjunath and others who join the fight against corruption.
